About Linda’s art practice

“I rarely begin a painting with a predetermined image in mind. Instead, I activate the surface with spontaneous, expressive marks in pastel and charcoal, layering colour as the composition gradually takes shape. The process is immersive—thoughtful and reflective—guided by my deep connection to the natural world and my intuitive response to it. I embrace the spontaneity of mark-making, working across a variety of media, including acrylics, oils, pastels, and collage, allowing each material to contribute its own energy to the final piece.”

Exhibitions: I am currently exhibiting at the Greytown Art Gallery and Aratoi Museum of Art and History.

Previous Exhibitions: Artbourne, Taranaki Art Awards, New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts, Wairarapa Review (Aratoi), Kotare Art, Greytown Art Gallery, and Aratoi Museum of Art and History.

Linda’s artwork is held in private collections around the world. You are warmly invited to view her work by appointment at her home and studio near Greytown, New Zealand.

Art Workshops: Linda regularly runs art workshops for adults. With over 40 years teaching experience, Linda enjoys working with both experienced artists and novices. She encourages individuality and personal exploration, and loves to guide artists to find their inner voice.
